Lord, men have called Your way hard
And have trudged wearily along the paths of life.
They carry ever-growing burdens like small ants
trying to move mountains
Until the burdens grow too heavy and they travel
Your paths no more.
But it’s not Your way, it’s man’s way that is hard.
It’s not believing that is hard- but doubt.
It’s not trusting that is hard- but fear.
It’s not giving that is hard- but withholding.
It’s not loving that is hard- but hatred.
So, remind me Lord,
When my burden starts to weigh me down
That it is indeed My burden.
I created it, I picked it up,
And only I can cast it off.
Lord, Let me travel lightly.
